Adiós to Zumba

So Mama and I, after getting all hyped up about Zumba by reading the rave reviews y'all dear-hearts gave me, tried a class last night.

I don't know if it was a weird class or what, but I felt like I was in a Mexican restaurant.  All this fun Top 40 music y'all spoke of?

Not in our class.

Substitute college students for these seniors and you will somewhat get the picture.  Part of the problem was that the class was in a dark room at the Y, with awkwardly placed columns so you couldn't see the instructor.  The instructor who had to consult her notes, and who's mike didn't work.

I'll think I'll stick to Jazzercise.

  1. Evan at my old fancy-pants expensive gym, Zumba was 100% full of women at least twice my age. I did not return.

  2. My sorority sisters and I love Zumba!! Of course its at our university so all people our age but it is so much fun!

  3. I'm with you, Samma...rumba was a snore. Now, Jazzersize...there is some exercise! I am going to be soo sore tomorrow. Thanks for encouraging me to go. I'll be back to whittle down the old waistline and laugh at your pelvic thrusts...haha
    Love you,

  4. If it was normal music from Radio i would dig it. I can work out to Gaga, i cannot work out to la bamba:)

  5. Well, at least you gave it a try!

  6. oh no! I hate that - but glad you tried it. I think classes are like sororities - different everywhere you go!

  7. That is too bad. I'm sore for a week after a good class.

I love to hear from y'all, so drop me a line!
